What do you mean something is wrong when a 4cyl makes more HP than a V8. You Litchfield has a turbo. The M3 doesent. Besides a turbo awd 4cyl is a thorn in a V8. I seen a K20 Civic NA with a 200is WHP beat a 400WHP Supra and 380hp Evo from a dig and from a roll.Thats something to see. Anybody with the right setup can have turbo 4cyl with more power than most V8s. Wikipedia also says the M3s top speed is 200mph. Prolly a little less than that I would no be surprised

On the track, M3 is way faster, actually there's no comparison, M3 is completely in a different league.300 bhp out of 2.5 litre is not a very good recipe for reliability. V8 will outlast it and not to mention if you tune it properly, you'll get more than 1000 bhp out of it.

"pretty pathetic showing from BMW"You're being biased as ****. Top speed is the same only because all German cars are limited to 155 mph. I don't know where you got that acceleration times from but according to Subaru, it takes 5.2 seconds to get to 62 mph.M3 takes 4.6 seconds, not 4.8.Even if there's a version of Subaru faster than this, it's because the gearbox is set up to produce fast 0-60 but from 60 to 120 the high tech V8 in M3 will only start to come alive and then, bye bye subaru.

I don't think, I know. I have an 04 STI which is faster than M3's and S4's. Then I also have an 07 Litchfield type 25 Spec-C which has the same horsepower as this new M3 and only 4 cylinders, yet it does 0-62 in 3.7 (stock) and 3.2 (my modded version). Something's wrong when a 4 cylinder car has the same HP as a V8, but is faster in the 0-62 by more than a second. It also has a 177 top speed & 9.9s 1/4. My Litchfield cost $120K, stock it will run less than the M3 and it's superior in every way.

Wow do you really think the Sti can beat the M3 in the 1/4. And didnt the euro version of the E92 have a faster 0-60 time? And an unlimited E92 can hit about 188-190ish correct me if Im wrong.

Nope, STI beats an M3 in every category. Top speed is the same, 0-62 is 4.6 for the STI/4.8 for the BMW. The STI turns and breaks quicker, has a faster 1/4 mile, has better fuel economy, cost's mush less, is way more reliable and the STI accomplishes all of this on only 4 cylinders while the M3 gets beat in everything despite having 8 cylinders... pretty pathetic showing from BMW.

The Nurburgring is a fairly smooth surface, its rough for a race track but it is still far smoother than any public road ive ever been on. The car wouldnt be thrown around the place like it would on a public road. Anyway a GT2 is 400kg lighter than a GTR and has slightly more power. Sti has less power than M3 but its lighter. Id definitely take an M3 though if i was given a choice.

BMW M3 is rwd but it's clever diffs will do their jobs. Imprezas understeer too much. And btw. rwd Porsche GT2 beat Nissan GTR on Nurburgring when it was raining. According to Drivers Republic.

depends what kind of road. On a wet bumpy Irish road i would pick the STi to win everyday. 4wd vs 2wd on an uneven and damp surface is no comparrison really.

Sti can beat M3 on the snow but on the road? Nevah! |
