Why not find other people who are living this way? Work with them, apprentice, learn all you can, gain practical skills. Then see how the doors might open...

this has always been my idea of living, even as a kid i knew we were living in a corrupt unstable life. i really want to move into this lifestyle but have no resource or means. any advice? im thinking i would buy land as a start?

Melanie Rios is an awsome and lovley lady who shared her views about our ecology in a way that has made me start researching more about it. I saw her on "Wife Swap" with a woman who was ignorant, rude, with a horrible loud mouth as well as sad. I was so flabergasted that I had to watch it over and over to see what made someone like that tick. I applaud Melanie and Rob for their quiet elegance in response to the nasty things this woman spewed at them.

I think we have to make a lot of changes from the inside first--our attitudes and approaches to a very different way of living with less materially. Hopefully we will be richer socially and culturally.
