Someone can also take an idea of today's Sgouro at YouTube's Beethoven 'Appassionata' Sonata (2002) video.

I was listening to his Wilde Jagd a little while ago...From a technical standpoint, it's actually a little disappointing.

This is the opinion I yused to have about the guy us well. Apart from any general importance of Gkypianou's comment, I have to say that things are not excactly like that in Sgouros case. In my, now, opinion, there are specific reasons why he's not us famous as he used to be. Anyway check out today's Sgouro at YouTube's Rachmaninov Paganini Rhapsody (2003).

Age 12 at Carnegie Hall (1982). Age 13 at Royal Festival Hall (1983). You can listen to a pirate recording of the 1983 performance on youtube - search for Rostropovich conducts Sgouros

Being a child prodigy made everybody talk about him because he played pieces other children didn't even dream about playing them. However when he grew up, being a solist, even playing extremely difficult pieces as he always did, didn't make him out from other solists who at that age they also achieved that level. What i'm trying to say is that when he grew up there wasn't anything that special anymore. So he didn't catch so much attention. However he still lives in Greece and he gives recitals!
