China's Yellow River is drying up, vast grassland is turning into desert. Shocking images.Halong Glaciers in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the source of China's Yellow River, have shrunk by 17% during the past 30 years. This could leave the region without glaciers by the end of the century and is an alarming sign of climate impact on the source of China's mother river- the Yellow River. A documentary by Greenpeace.

Nomadic lifestyle has virtually disappeared. The Chinese government would even put rolls and rolls of wire fences for the Tibetans themselves to put up preventing herding and grazing. Tibetan children even sometimes had to kill their own parents. The most hard hit are the Tibetan nomads. The Tibetan plateau is already difficult to live on and the Chinese have made it almost impossible. The more you support their economy, the more you support lack of human rights.

The Steel Dragon (ie China) has had long term plans with Tibet. It has nothing to do with respecting the Tibetan way of life, a language and a culture. It has to do with Uranium mining which will support infrastructures in China for their booming economy and fuelling nuclear energy.

In 2004, more than 3,797 people were executed in 25 countries and at least 7,395 were sentenced to death according to Amnesty International. Out of 3,797 executions 3,400 were carried out in China, but sources inside the country have estimated the number to be nearly 10,000. (Amnesty International, Death sentences and executions in 2004, published in April 2005)
