actually dubai is very clean and only bout 15% of its investment comes from oil, besides europe and other large countries never cared for them why should they change things when the gun is held by the other hand

I am actually working on the project's design development team. I work for one the architecture firms involved. The services travel in a pipeline of sorts from island to island, branching off to provide water, electrical, etc to the buildings on the islands. Its quite an amazing feat of engineering.

I worked on it 3 years ago... you shoulda seen some of the blue sky ideas then! A sinking Titanic for the district cooling etc. Interesting job.
