That was a quote from a website I came across that was outlining the caste system. An error prevented me from posting the rest and the quote ended up out of context. Sorry. I didn't mean to offend you.

Do u even know wht caste system is ??? ... The notion of "upper" and "lower" in castes was introduced by british...its not a system of vedic system... Yes, there is poverty in India bcoz of the socialistic model we followed...India is making giant strides now.... We dont need ur sympathy...

Caste System has been the bane of Hindu society for centuries. In terms of impact, it did much greater damage for a much longer period to a great many people than the slave system of the western world or the witch-hunting practices of medieval Europe. The Hindu caste system was a clever invention of the later Vedic society, justified by a few law makers. The upper castes found it convenient to retain and perpetuate their social and religious distinction and political and economic advantage."

2-So why belive in something, i belive in capitalism and money, don't need a bonus like religion. No i don't mean i am capitalist, because i am not rich and that would make no sense. What i mean is, the only thing matters in this cruel world is power, and that is equal to money in this era.

Money is the real deal. Or let's say happiness of man is the most important thing in the life and happiness has some strict prerequisites like health and money. So if any religion ignores this fact, i can't care it. It is worthless to me. That's why all the religions in the world are worthless for me. Not only hinduism. Also christianism, islam and anything else. Their economic systems are smillar to capitalism or they have no economic system.

3- If you are so miserable, what is the meaning of religion and praying. What that religion tells about poverty or suffering or the economic oppression of the rich over the poor. If that religion doesn't tell anything about that it is worthless to me. The religion even should spark revolutionist ideas, not opiums like you will be a rich man in the next life if you obey

2- The video is somewhat shocking and it shows the facts that contradicts too much within. Some people are suffering from poverty to the limit of starving and on the other side some religious men is praying.

misuse or abuse of something is not an excuse to me. Christians slaughtered niggers and natives in the name of religion. If something is prone to abusing, it will be definately abused because of the human nature. About the fear oriented part yes i agree. That fits also to islam and judism.

The caste system never was what Hinduism was about. It's nothing more then a tool of the wealthy to keep their own families rich throughout generations. If you were familiar with Vedanta you'd see it shows how to wake up from your thought processes and emotions, not to let them put you to sleep and control you like in the belief and fear oriented religions of the west. It's true that the upper class of India misused Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism) but the religion in itself is very liberating.

Congratulations! You have won the award for the most heartless and demeaning video on you tube! First it shows the most heartbreaking footage of innocent humans in terrible suffering. Followed up by the use of that footage to demonstrate the foolishness of Hindu holy men(probably the wisest people on Earth -you don't notice that if you have no wisdom whatsoever). Then you use this "fact" to deter Westerners from taking Hindus seriously. Could this video be any more thoughtless and arrogant? |
