It's a unique sort of gas range, and most gas ranges and ovens are inside closed kitchens.

The speaker is not confined, the sound is influencing both inside and outside the tube, this is apparent as we hear the sound. So based on the delicate balance of sound, gas and air pressure there are two possible modes of operation. The high point of the flame, flame maxima can either be at the node, or the anti-node. Knowing which mode is not trivial, and as I did not measure any of the pressures I mistakenly only described one possible mode not knowing which it mode it actually is.

Somebody should put this on their piano to burn while they play. That would be spectacular. |
