What is the preparation for becoming a physicist? I have always been interested in physics but felt ny math skills were not strong enough.

b1llc0sby, No. Although math of course plays a huge part in science, most physicists, which is this field of work, are not strong in math. Or they think most math is a luxory and even unneeded at times. Or so I heard on a documentary of Albert Einstein. Him being on of the few who were above average. Although he wasn't that great at it either. Many times corresponding with people who worked in the field of mathematical equations. Point is, you don't need to be great at math to study physics.

I just read "The Elegant Universe" One section was entitled "Can String Theory be experimentally tested"...it was a page and a half long...kinda reminded me of this video...both were short and didn't answer the question.

I'm no particle physicist but...1.Both the General and Special theory of Relativity make predictions that can be verified through experiment.2.Quantum mechanics, though esoteric and hardly intuitive describes the subatomic worldwith and unmatched degree of accuracy.3. String theory puts forth the idea of one dimensional "strings" vibrating in 9-11 tiny dimensions with no verifiable predictions and no emperical evidence. hmmm...For a "Theory of Everything" or "Theory of Nothing?"

Obviously this guy who was doing this video, was reading his notes, everything he said was being read. But he read it way to slow.He needed to read it much much faster. Then and only then would it be clear to everyone.
