Sweet choreography!great song! both placebo and kate bush's versions are great. and i love both videos. i cant say that i like one version more than the other cause theyre two completely deifferent genres.

Really people - all this talk of one version of a song being 'better' or 'worse' than another is just infantile: music is an art form. When it comes to covers, all there can ever be is different versions of a song. Some individuals may prefer one version to another, but this doesn't (and obstensibly cannot) make one version intrinsically better or worse than another!

you are much more concise than myself, i must admit. I feel the same way (about Placebo) but i personally find Placebo's preferable - it's just more suited to me. And if anybody can cover an Elton John single and not be seen as a comlete amateur, then hats off to them :)

Kate was asked if she wanted to cover some Elton John/Bernie Taupin songs a while back for a tribute album, she chose Rocket Man and Candle in the Wind. Not better than the originals, but different and brilliant in their own right.

I love Kate Bush, but Placebo does this song SO much better. This may be the original, but rather than feeling like a content based song this seems like it's done just to be arty. As far as the idea of "Rerwriting a novel" goes... I guess you hate most modern fiction. Doing a cover of an older tale is a staple of modern fiction. We always retell the same stories. Just like resinging the same song. They're different but the same.

but bands that do that are usually big-headed and arrogant and probably don't make music that's as good as they think it is.The thing with "ruined" - i guess it can be used when someone who doesn't like the song is referring to people who associate the song with Placebo but you can't really injure or deprive the value of a song if the original is still out there in all of it's glory - it sucks that people misassociate songs and form opinions based on this, but it isn't Placebo's fault.

She's really a great artist and just lovely. I like it, when artists are really creating something really new and developing their own style. And she is definitely one of those women, who are not really comparable to someone else.
