Nearly 400 thousand Jews survived the Holocaust in Romania, from about one million who lived there before the war.Besarabia, a region of Romania, was for quite a long time a safe haven for Jews. There were anti-Semites in Romania too, like in all of Europe, but you cannot forget the positive side of Jewish life and survival in Romania.

You were the first country in Europe which killed Jews on a mass scale in modern history. Remember Iasi pogrom and others? Before Germans started killing Jews. And these pogroms were very popular with local population, they were willing participants and no one defended the Jews. Remember the death train and how everyone was picking on the Jews?

Don´t be foolish, we were the first country in Europe who helped the jewish people escape from WW2. Look at the statistics, you´ll see precisly how many reached Israel from Romania...Antonescu was a fukking hero for the jewish people...10-15% of Israel popul are decent from Romania. That´s true...I´ve been there...
