Yes, she was doing a lot less PR in the UK, and was based in the US by this point. It went to No.1 in the US for 10 weeks, making it (at that time) tied as the 2nd longest run at No.1 evern, along with Debbie Boone's 1977 hit "You Light Up My Life". Elvis' "Hound Dog" was the longes-runner, and spent 11 weeks at No.1. Of course, all those records are broken now! This probably would have been bigger in the UK if she'd come over here to promote it. BBC broadcast the TV special at least.

It didn't go to number 1 in the UK. Like I said it only reached number 7.

flares - If I remember correctly, Physical went to number one for 5 weeks, dropped to number 2 but the next week went back to number one for another 5 weeks. It's was such a huge hit. I was 13 and cheering Olivia on like crazy. Other guys had their basketball and football teams. I had Olivia. The girls were so jealous but I didn't give a darn. Lol!

Physical came out at the perfect moment during the beginning of the 80's Aerobic craze. It needs to be re-released to get us back to the workout routine again. That's starting with me. LOL! Everything Olivia does is great and what makes it great is that it comes from a great and genuine person. Physical was just the most marketable song she released. Olivia is still our Olivia Neutron-Bomb!

Number one for 10 weeks in the USA?. Blimey. I've got the guinness book of hit singles in front of me and according to this, here in the UK it was a hit in october 1981. It only reached number 7.

Great song. I love the guitar solo between 2.22 and 2.52.
