I was eight years old and saw this race. It was an inspiration for every youngster in gym class who lagged in the back. Thx for the clip!!

I can't say it was flawless, but it was exciting. It still looks as if he won't win it with five seconds to go, even though we know he will. Great commentary.

I highly doubt it, look at his numbers they steadily went down after the 91 mvp season, most people on roids increase their production not decrease. That being said he is still one of the all time great short stops.

Thats not the only reason, its flawless because he ran even splits. The other runners started out to fast and he apparently knew that. So he raced his own race and won. Thats why its flawless. It's flawless because nothing DID go wrong. In your definition Flawelessness doesn't exist.

just because he won doesnt make it flawless, its flawless if nothing can go wrong, and everything could have gone wrong. its impossible to have a flawless plan in an 800m race

It's flawless because he DID win, it doesn't matter by how much. I haven't seen the 1500 race so i can't say anything about that. It was lucky yes, but it takes luck to win races, thats just the truth. The tactic was flawless because he did win and he didn't put himself in oxygen debt by going out to fast like the other runners could have.

how is that flawless? theres so much that can go wrong, he only just won, its a good tactic but it was also pretty lucky cause it didnt work in his 1500

I know I'll negatives for saying it, but Cal Ripken was probably a steroid user.
