Heath Ledger died January 22, 2008. Over the years I have interviewed him several times. Once for Brokeback Mountain and once for The Brothers Grimm. Over the years I have found Heath pleasant, interesting, and full of life. He has never liked the "interview process" but many movie stars do not. My last interview, however, was very different. It was for the movie I'm Not There. I must tell you that I have never seen him so unhinged and figity as he was for this interview. Many of the journalists who spoke to him also feel the same way...but we had not idea he would die within weeks. Here is the complete interview I had with him just weeks ago for his latest movie. I'm not posting this because it was a great interview, because it certainly wasn't one of my best. I am posting it so people out there can get a better understanding of Heath's state of mind just before he died. Rest in peace.

this is a great interview, but its sad to see u exploite his name for utube hits, he was a great actor and will always be remembered as the joker.

You're right that it was an accident, but you're wrong about the alcohol. There was no alcohol found in his system. In fact, Heath had not touched alcohol in a year.

FYI, there were like 50 of these mini interviews for this press junket for I'm Not There. He had to sit there and answer the same questions over and over. If you watch all the other ones, he looks very relaxed overall, and was probably just tired or restless from sitting there.

he definitely looks like he's a little out of it and i don't really think that him playing the role as the joker had anything to do with that. if you read into his personal life right before he died, that's probably what it had to do with.RIP.

Heath doesn't look all there. Yeah I agree he doesn't look relaxed like his other interviews. Miss the guy....still can't actually believe that he is gone !! R.I.P Heath

well he played the joker so obviously hes going to have some minor body language, at least, similar if not the same to what the joker had in the dark knight. i do think hes uncomfortable in one way or another in this interview, but who can blame him, hes a hollywood actor. bound to have something going on but be put, or go in front of the cameras anyways.

you fucking idiots he does not look anything like the joker or acting like the joker. i personaly think you guys just whant to belive it because it sounds like an intersing conclustion. did johnhy depp go crazy well playing sweeney todd or hunterst thopmson. and look at jim cariey and his role. he a fine actor and played roles just as crazy as te joker in a diffrent way.
