Amazing Video...one of the best on Youtube in my opinion...as for being a Linesman think of this...by the time your 45 you'll have Varicose veins in both your legs and extreme lower back pain...go for being a Cable Jointer..you still get the back pain but the money is a lot better!

All transmission lines carry AC. DC is rarely used, and when it is it is usually HVDC submarine cables. The AC is the actual source of the crackling you hear as the current is reversed every 1/60th of a second.

Hello everyone, great video. Does anyone know how to go about gaining an apprenticeship as a linesman in the uk? I've been a fully qualified electrician for about 5 years now but have always wanted to be a HV linesman but i dont know where to start, any feedback would be great thanks. |
