they dont get addicted, the mother just dries up, so basically theres nothing else for the baby to drink, therefor dependant on formula.

There are actually many, many people who have boycotted Nestle and all its products. I am one of them. It may not make much of a difference... but it surely makes more of a difference than NOT boycotting them.

Let's get real, who's going to boicott Nestle? No matter how many people know this, they will alwayst believe the ads with sweet teddy bears and babies more than believing in conspiracies to make money... Do you trust Pharmaceutic companies? There's so much to say about them too... Just read "Inventing Disease and Pushing Pills" by Jörg Blech, quite enlightning. But you're right, unfortunately the African problem is much more than that.

well, thanx. it makes more sense now. i still can't believe Nestle is that evil though. Sometimes we mean something well (they probably tried to stop AIDS in Africa) and it just goes wrong. and i just don't think boycotting Nestle solves ANY problems of African people.

I don't think it's about getting addicted, if the baby is bottle feed, the mother will run out of breast milk to feed him (the amount of mother milk depends on the baby's suction)... and still has to eat something, right?!
happylaf (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
how can a baby get addicted to a formula?? is it scientifically proved? i don't think so.

I agree with you Petersen2006,If any food producer of artificial foods like Nestle Formula or Masterfood can stressed forced to clearly declare on their packages show how destroying their deadly food is, and on the opposite how important breastmilk and fruits and vegetables are for humans to their mental, physical, spiritual developement. We would shift enormous upstairs in the human health. But our politicians are bought by these companies! It takes a long run to change that!
