That might be true, but I think you mean Småland (that's where the films are set), not Skåne. ;)

Some things in Emil, like earthquake in USA and comet (Halley) being visible from Earth have both happened in first decade of 1900's in real life. Might be Emil is not set in any exact time period, but I think it tries to reflect Skåne life around year 1900.

"StarlingKnight": The term "socken" (administrative unit) which is mentioned by the woman in the video, was abolished in 1863. So probably the Emil films take place before that.
