As soon as I heard that guitar riff in the beginning, I INSTANTLY started singing along. I totally agree with that one guy above; nostalgia just hit me with a truck when I saw this video. Back in '94 this was one of the first anime I saw as an anime fan.Macross II wasn't particularly memorable, but AWESOME opening, with great mecha and character designs (Haruhiko Mikimoto is my favorite character designer in anime).

The plot infact is actually largely adapted from a 1950s Aurdry Hepburn movie called "Roman Holiday", many of the scenes are directly taken from that film (including the mouth of truth) and the general over all plot between Ishtar and Hibiki is lifted from that film. Understanding that gave me new found respect for this OVA.

The beginning of this somewhat reminds me of Shinseiki GPX Cyber Formula...Too bad I was too young then (in Kindergarten?) to actually watch this ^^|||
